Perfect for Families
Granada's Parque de las Ciencias is a 70,000 square meter complex of exhibition halls, fun but educational interactive displays, towers, planetariums, butterfly reserves, and ample outdoor spaces. The colors, games, and open spaces would be perfect for young children, but also a good plan for teenagers, families, or even a young(ish) couple looking for some whimsical fun.
We had the chance to check out two separate exhibitions, one on the brain and the other on puppets. While the latter sounds a bit odd, it was actually quite cool as one of the leading manufacturers of life-size marionettes is based near Granada. A favorite among our group was the life-sized elephant with moving trunk, and day-glo blacklight puppets. Other exhibition halls are more science-oriented, featuring displays and interactive games (measure your weight in water, see an infrared video of yourself) based around the human body, its functions, and biology.
