Parque Lage

This is an attractive park in the city of Rio de Janeiro, beside the city's botanical gardens. It's worth a visit; in addition to its natural beauty and the chance to relax, it's nice to walk around and enjoy it. It's been here since colonial times; in the year 1840, a romantic garden, similar to European parks, was constructed. Years later, a palace-like building was erected; today, there's an art school within.

In the courtyard is a large reflective pool and a gym. Here you can have a coffee or even a light meal for a reasonable price. There are some trails leading up to Christ the Redeemer, as well as a playground, some lakes, some islands, bridges, a gazebo and even a nice artificial grotto.
