1 review of Rockcliffe Beach

A famous beach

One of the most famous beaches on Scotland's southwest coast, Rockcliffe is said to be where St Ninian stopped to pray and spend the night. There's a mixture here of rock and sand, and the effect is like a very small micro-beach between creeks. To get to the best sand you'll have to cross the water, and pay attention to the tide, because you don't want to have to swim on your way back to the car! There are lovely views here of the sea and the English coast, and the sunset is so beautiful that it's no wonder the saint chose to stop here. A small beach but very nice to visit, and close to the village
