Praca da Alfandega

This historic eighteenth century square was the initial core of the city, and it is located right in front of the old river port which brought a lot of movement in the small town. Today, it still maintains it's traditional style with some museums (Museum of Art Rio Grande do Sul Ado Malagoli (MARGS), Memorial of Rio Grande do Sul, Santander Cultural), and also hosts a book fair that takes place every October. My special tip is to sit and observe the peculiar architecture on the square's benches.
