Punta Ballena

Punta Ballena is one part of the Uruguayan coast which sticks out. It is in what locals call "the placid" referring to one of the two sides which separates the Atlantic ocean from the Punta del Este resort. Besides being very nice, this site is interesting because there is a house-museum of a local artist who is the father of one of those involved in the crash in the Andes which would be the source of the film "Alive". The museum is not anything spectacular, but the construction and landscape are both very cool. Do not expect the blue waters of the Mediterranean or Caribbean.
