Amazing food market in Le Marais

The Marche des Enfants Rouge is the best market in Paris if you’re looking to eat, and eat well. While it does have traditional market stands hawking fruits, vegetables, fresh fish, and everything else you’d expect, the real pleasure of visiting this historic market in Le Marais is to come on an empty stomach and let yourself be tempted by the market’s delicious food stands (I’d especially recommend Tom Sarl, the Moroccan restaurant at the end).

Le Marché Des Enfants Rouges

The Market enfants rouges (red children) is the oldest market in Paris and definitely a recommended place to visit when strolling the Bohemian part of the city, Le Marais. The curious name of the place seems to come from a former orphanage where all the children wore a red uniform. Today there is no trace of the orphans, but it is a good place to eat after walking around. I highly reommended the oysters which are the specialty. The oysters go by the name of Les Zouaves.
