The center of Esposende
Largo Rodrigues Sampaio is the most central square in Esposende as it marks the turning point between the historic, commercial and leisure area of the promenade and the sea. The first is accessed by Rua 1 º Dezembro and the second by the Holy Rua Maria Anjos (both start from the square). Also in this square is the Mother Church, the Tourist Office and 2 monuments: The bust of Antonio Rodrigues Sampaio (politician giving name to the square) and a sculpture to the men of the sea.
