Roesselmann Fountain

2 reviews of Roesselmann Fountain

A fountain full of history

Excellent

Another beautiful fountain we discovered. The statue represents the Provost Jean Roesselmann, who is represented heroically during the battle for the defense of the city in 1262. However, the character traits are from another important figure of the city; Hercules Peyeri Hoff, who was mayor in 1888, and refused to submit to the German authorities. This statue has a lot of history, but even without knowing it, you can enjoy the many fine details that give an authentic spirit to this fountain.
