Rosario Luarca´s Feasts

The feast of the Rosary in Luarca is celebrated on August 15. It is a traditional procession accompanying the virgin to Saleo promenade. The Virgin is taken to the harbor by boat, while everyone is singing the Salve Marinera and a wreath is thrown into the sea in memory of all the deceased. Then, everyone dives into the harbor basin and finally, there is live music on the promenade. The Rosary and St. Timothy are the two main festivals of the summer in Luarca and western Asturias.
