Relais du Silence Hotel & Spa Etxegana

We arrived to the Etxegana Hotel and the first thing that surprised us was the majesty of the building. The brick and wood warmly welcomed us, together with the kind staff.

Once inside the building we were seduced by the details: the carved wood that reminded us of faraway lands captured our attention, just like when you land in a foreign country and you can’t stop looking everywhere with open eyes.
We left our things in the room, which are spacious and luminous, and we went to different places of the area. We came back for dinner, which was more like a tasting of pleasures, with local and foreign influences.

Of all the places we stayed in Gorbeialdea, the Etxegana is probably the one we liked the best.
It is found in a peaceful and pretty place, with areas for walking and enjoying the natural surroundings, wrapped in complete silence.

The bedrooms are spacious and spectacular, very relaxing and with a fantastic decoration in a wooden style. It is carefully carved throughout the whole hotel and it is really spectacular to see the level of detail it has. The entire hotel is full of details worth paying attention to.

The English bar is great; it is a pity that we couldn’t drink anything there. The food has a wide variety of international and contemporary food, very interesting and tasty. But the thing we liked the most was the breakfast. I’m very picky when it comes to coffee and here it was exquisite, with homemade toast and an assortment of pastries.
