The Lighthouse S. Julião da Barra is in the fortress that serves as the official residence of the National Defence Minister. The Lighthouse S. Julião is very significant for Lisbon's sailors because, along with the Bugio Lighthouse, it serves as the entrance/exit of the Lisbon Barra, called the "step between the towers". It's the spot that marks the exit to the ocean or the return back home. It is a beach area where Lisbon locals come to enjoy the weekend. Location: Forte de S.
