Sacristy ( São João Church)

At the foot of the tomb of the Count of Barcelos you can find the door leading to the sacristy of the Church of the Cistercian monastery of San Juan de Tarouca. It was constructed in the year 1710 and it is really an impressive place. All of the walls are lined with traditional Portuguese tiles in white and blue colours, depicting the life of St. Bernard. The roofs are covered with frescoes, and there are also still various pieces of furniture. The magnificent dresser drawers that occupies an entire wall of the room is particularly impressive. There is also a desk, several Renaissance religious
