San Andrés de Rendufe Monastery

I discovered the Monastery of Rendufe by chance when I went to the Party Food in the Portuguese town of Vila Verde . Rendufe is about 2 or 3 km from Vila Verde in AMARES. It is a Benedictine monastery and although no one knows from what century it is from, the two towers are said to have reconstructed in the 18th century. In the center of this great monument is a decorative fountain. Rendufe Monastery was declared a Monument of Public Interest in 1943 and its founder was Egas Penagate Viegas, a medieval Portuguese Master of the Order of the Templars.
