San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

This park holds four historical gems, little known to the thousands of tourists who visit San Antonio every holiday season and on weekends. They are four of the five missions established by religious orders between the 17th and 19th centuries to convert the natives. Mission San Jose, Mission Concepcion, Mission San Juan and Mission Espada are the four fortifications that can be seen in this park of 193 acres. Some of them are in excellent state while others are now in ruins. The park also offers facilities for those wishing to stroll, cycle or jog among the trees.
