Santiago Chapel (Capela of Sao Tiago)

Santiago Chapel is at the beginning of the commercial street of Póvoa (Rua da Junqueira), near the Town Hall and belongs to the parish of San José Ribamar. The temple we see today is nineteenth century but is on the site of a former XVI century chapel dedicated to San Roque. From the outside it's semicircular, inside has a single nave and a choir loft with tiled plinth coating the walls. The altar is preceded by a large triumphal arch and chaired by the likes of Santiago.
