4 reviews of Santo Tomás Market

Handicrafts and homemade products

The traditional market of Santo Tomas Bilbao celebrated every December 21, in fact, some consider it the starting point of the holidays. Its origin comes from when farmers came to the city to sell their produce, and this custom has been maintained over the years. Most of the stalls are in Plaza Nueva and the esplanade of Arenal, in the market we can buy handicrafts and homemade products such as Idiazabal cheese. Apart from buying, we can eat sausage, chorizo, talus, and drink cider or txakolí. The amount of people who attend this market is incredible. It's very colorful and there's musical entertainment.
