Arch of Septimius Severus

The Arch of Septimius Severus is at the Roman Forum at the foot of Capitoline Hill. It was built in the year 203 to commemorate the victories of Emperor Septimius Severus and his sons Caracalla and Geta over the Parthians. This 3rd-century arch is located at the foot of the Capitoline Hill and bears inscriptions in honor of Septimius Severus and his son Caracalla on both sides. It previously bore the name of another of Septimius' sons ve was murdered by Caracalla, but the whole line was eliminated and rewritten.
