A modern twist on the classics

Located in the middle of Santander, this is modern-looking restaurant on the outside, but the inside reminds you of the Altamira Cave with its bison painted on the ceiling. The decor is very warm and welcoming and you'll really enjoy it. In fact, that alone is worth a visit to the restaurant.

As for the food, they combine traditional classics with modern culinary techniques. I enjoyed a dinner of croquettes with a strawberry gazpacho, a foie gras salad, lobster risotto with almond bread (very good), monkfish with clams and artichokes, and steak tartar, which is essentially raw meat with spices. For dessert, I had tangerine sherbet with orange ice cream and Pedro Ximénez cream. Some of the dishes I liked more than others, but they were all beautifully cooked. The flavors can be quite intense, especially in the steak tartar, so you should be prepared for a different meal and leave time to really savor the dishes.

Heavenly

One of the greatest dining experiences I've enjoyed lately was in this restaurant in Santander. It's traditional cuisine but with a contemporary twist. The place is exquisitely decorated with ceiling paintings that mimic those of Altamira Cave. The service was impeccable and the flavors made for a memorable experience.

It's located in the center of Santander and is small, warm, and very welcoming. The owners and staff are all really friendly. I tried the tasting menu and my palate was grateful: tomato and strawberry gazpacho, ham croquettes, foie gras salad, creamy rice with lobster, monkfish with clams, and an exquisite steak tartar. I had black chocolate with orange ice cream for dessert.
