A man named Cachat gave a glass of the water from the source to a sick person that was suffering from kidney stones and he was cured miraculously. The story from here is simple: The Lord struck gold Cachat, Evian became a fashionable spa and the water was bottled under the name of the same town (it was originally called Cachat mineral water). Now, this water is sold all over the whole world. Yes, it's the same water as the bottled Evian (elsewhere, of course), but it is free.
