Paradise on Earth

Srebarna Nature Reserve is 15km west of Silistra, Bulgaria. It is located in the Póntica route, the main path for migratory birds travelling between Europe and Africa and on the south bank of the Danube River is the main habitat of the Crespo pelican, a species which faces extinction. It covers an area of ​​600 hectares and extends around a protected area of ​​about 540 acres of wetlands, where you can find more than 179 nesting species of birds, 39 species of mammals, 21 species of reptiles and amphibians and many species of fish. It is a welcoming place for many other species of animals, whose survival is in danger in other parts of the world.
