Sun Gate

Porta de Sol is the South access to the Citadel (or uptown) of Lamego. The gap is in the walls that were built of masonry in the thirteenth century and, unlike the Porta da Vila in the north, it consists of a pointed arch and is very thick. Alongside there is a house with an emblazoned door that belonged to the Cistercian Order. Walking through the door there's a vantage point with are good views of the city.
