Where the waters meet

The Amazon includes the states of Amazonas, Roraima, Acre and Rondonia . Together, they form the heart of the Amazon region drained by the largest system of lakes and rivers in the world. This area is still home to some of the planet's indigenous past. Where the Waters Meet (The Found das Aguas) is the point at which the Solimoes River flows into the Black River. The alkaline waters and clear brown Solimoes River (Amazon, for Peruvians) flows for approximately 50 km before joining the dark water of the Black River. The Solimoes River appears a light color because it comes on the Andes and a high amount of silt.
