    Rustic hotel

    Great

    Talkeetna, a village north of Anchorage, is known for its artistic and rustic atmosphere. The Swiss Alaska Inn, a small hotel, is in the forest near the town of Talkeetna but far enough to feel isolated. What I liked about this hotel was the service. The owners, Renamary and Vern Rauchenstein, are so friendly and make your stay as comfortable as possible. They have a small restaurant with a combination of typical American food and Swiss / German. It's not very expensive and if you are only staying one or two nights in Talkeetna, this place is worth it.
