East Side of Mt. Hood Scenic Hike

Tamanawas Falls hike lies on the east side of Mt. Hood; a short drive from the town of Hood River. It's a relatively easy hike, making it very popular and quite frequented. The starting point is at the Sherwood trailhead. The first part of the hike winds up the hill along Highway 35. It then proceeds to turn into the forest and become truly beautiful. It follows cold springs creek through thick forest and an open area of massive rock fall, all the way to Tamanawas falls. The falls itself is spectacular; about 100 feet high and set in a natural, wooded amphitheater. If you're feeling up to it, you can hike up to the falls and get a view from behind it.
