Taxco, city of light!

Seeing Taxco and especially the monuments and churches all lit up was an unforgettable experience!

Interesting town

This is a very interesting town with a long tradition of silver mining and jewelry making. Here, you will find numerous terraces that have amazing views. It is a city of about 70,000 residents and is about 2 hours from Mexico City en route to Acapulco and Cuernavaca.

Beautiful place

This beautiful place is located 1,752 meters above sea level, in the northern Mexican state of Guerrero. Taxco de Alarcon, also known as "the capital of Mexican silver," is world famous for its jewelry and artistic representations. It was the first mining center in the Americas and is currently is the basis of the local economy.

Today, Taxco, along with Acapulco and Ixtapa- Zihuatanejo on the Pacific coast, is one of the points of the 'Triangle of the Sun', which is considered the most important tourist centers of the state. Although Taxco does not have a beach, it attracts many tourists for its crafts, as well as its colonial vibe and cobbled streets. Its also a popular destination for its warm humid climate and average temperature of 19 °C.

Since 2002, Taxco has become one of the 'Magic Towns' of Mexico. One of the favorite local dishes that you must try is the tasty posole done in the Taxco savory style. When you visit Taxco, bring money so you can buy silver (earrings, bracelets, rings, chains, etc.) and bring it back as souvenirs for your friends.

The first time I went was on a tour with my schoolmate from the Masters of CAM, Celaya. We spent our time walking, walking and walking, just to enjoy the town and of course to stop by the different silversmiths. It is a very beautiful place, I highly recommend it.

Taxco Guerrero Magic Town

In Taxco Guerrero, the houses are made from beautiful white and ocher tones. The effect is charming and dreamlike when you see them from a distance. The buildings, streets, people, and art are all wonderful. The church of Santa Prisca is impressive at 200 years old and built in Baroque style from pink stone. One more of its attractions is the huge silver market. Being a mining town where silver is the major source of income for the community, it is not surprising to find true works of art to the delight of those who want to visit this magical town
