The abbey church of Payerne is one of the largest Romanesque churches to be found in Switzerland. It was constructed on the mile, which is on a hill in Payerne, a city whose Roman name was Paternus. It is possible to visit the interior of the abbey church, and also the court and temple which is next to it.
