The Cheddar Man Museum

The Museum of Prehistory in Cheddar Cheddar features Cheddar man (a 9000 years-old human fossil found in 1998 in Gough's Cave in Cheddar gorge) which always has a couple of fungi on it, which as well as light, served to fire at any time, rather than having to use wood or stone and spend hours rubbing and blowing. The founding of the museum was inspired by the discovery of the skeleton of Cheddar Man. Inside the museum is information on the results of the scientific studies in the caves and paleontological development.
