The Dickens Café

Rochester is a pretty harbor town known mainly for its centuries-old castle and cathedral, but also for being home to Charles Dickens during the final thirteen years of his life, a time when he drew inspiration for the town and its surroundings. What better way to celebrate the author's memory than heading down to High Street for a drink or lunch at the Dickens Cafe. They have market-fresh daily specials like homemade lasagna, which I found hearty and satisfying. They also have salads, huge baked potatoes, and homemade pies. If you're visiting Rochester for the first time and want to try the local
