Lighthouse and watchtower

The Roses lighthouse was built in 1864, as indicated on its white tower, and is on a small hill below Trinitat castle. In the past it had dual role of lighthouse and watchtower (to monitor enemy fleets). The lighthouse is now fully automated, and as usual, the part of the house, about 300 m2, is closed up tight and poorly maintained, while the watchtower is in perfect condition. Roses promenade goes past the lighthouse on its way to Cadaqués, so I recommend stopping here to enjoy the fantastic views from its privileged vantage point.
