Magnanerie
When visiting the area of the Loire castles, you just may find yourself getting tired of, what else, castles! A good alternative, if this happens, is the site of the "Magnanerie" located in the village of Bourre, a short walk from the village of Montrichard, which is also of interest. The Magnanerie is a troglodyte house, that is built on the same stone cliff, regional rock called "tufa" and which were erected the castles of the region. The site is interesting in several respects: the reconstitution of some interiors of the early twentieth century, to realize how it feels peculiar home environment, the exploration and explanation of the quarry work, to dig this tufa stone.
