Submerged Statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe

In the bay of Acapulco, near the island of La Roqueta, the Virgen de los Mares Acapulco is submerged a few feet deep and is perfectly visible on days when the sea is not stirred up. She was taken to this curious point in the late 50s and since then, every December 12th, all Acapulqueños living near the sea come to worship, as it is responsible for ensuring the lives of those ve face the dangerous waves of this area. There are numerous tourist boat trips, and on many of them some of the guides (often children) will teach diving in the location of the Virgin and also tell you about some of the most characteristic species of fish.
