Thousand Year Old Trees in Breña Alta
The Dragos Gemelos are two one thousand year old dragos located in Breña Alta, municipality of the island of La Palma.
The drago is a curious thousand year old tree endemic to the Canary Islands. Its scientific name is Dracaena Draco and it is considered by the indigenous people as a sacred and magical tree. Apparently, its reddish sap was really appreciated for its medicinal properties.
It has a slow growth, and its age is measured by the number of branches it has. These two dragos must be hundreds of years old since they are enormous.
