A young Gaudi

Excellent

My route of Barcelona, following the Gaudian landmarks, has brought me to the spectacular Ciudadela Park fountain, better known as "La Cascada (the cascade)."

I was really impressed to find out that Gaudi has several small, original in this place. However, I found out that the fountains aren’t a Gaudi original. Instead, it’s the work of the architect Josep Fontsere, plus several design and elements created by Gaudi. Here you can really appreciate the sculpture and architecture of the different Catalan masters.

The fountain is truly beautiful. It’s so special to find a fountain of this magnitude in Barcelona, seeing as we don't normally find structures of this size, like those found in the cities with a royal presence. The gilded sculpture crowning the fountain almost dazzles. It’s amazing. The double lateral staircase, which offers a view of the park from a different perspective, is magnificent. There’s also the beautiful sculpture of Venus. The Cascada fountain in its entirety is remarkable.
