Timken Museum of Art

The Timken, opened in 1965 designed by architect Frank Hope, is home to a significant collection of ancient paintings, sculptures and European tapestry. There are also important collections of paintings by American and Russian icons. Among the many artists here, there are Americans (Copley, West, Cole, Bierstadt), Italians (Savoldo, Veronese, Guercino), Spanish (Murillo), and French (Clouet, Claude, Boucher, Fragonard, David, Corot), but the most impressive groups of works belong to the Flemish and Dutch schools with individual masterpieces such as Pieter Brueghel the Elder, Peter Paul Rubens,
