1 review of Tredegar

A small town in Wales

Good

Tredegar is a town of about 15,000 inhabitants located in the south-east of Wales. This small town was an important economic center during the Industrial Revolution because of its large coal and steel industries. Tredegar was once the beating heart of a highly industrialized valley area, and became famous for the numerous social struggles in its history. Today Tredegar is a quiet town that is famous for its "Town Clock", a clock that sits atop a tower 20 meters high and dates back to 1858. Since 1979, Tredegar has been twinned with the French town of Orvault Loire-Atlantique.
