Tribute to the Men and Women of the Sea

Excellent

The Tribute to the Men and Women of the Sea is located on Spring Street, at the entrance of the port in the Asturian town of Tapia de Casariego. It is a statue in bronze in honor of the Neighborhood Association and Cultural Virgen del Carmen and all the people of Tapia de Casariego, who made this statue. It was inaugurated in July 1999 and it is a clear homage to all missing persons in the Cantabrian waters, as the plaque below the statue reads: "Men and women of the sea, brothers in love with this land that morning after dawn come to earn a living. And one day they left and never returned".
