12 reviews of Trinita' dei Monti

A very interesting visit

The Trinità dei Monti is located at the top of the Spanish Steps in Piazza di Spagna. One of the classic tours through the center of Rome starts here as the metro stop is very close to the square. It’s open from 10.00 to 12.00 and from 16.00 to 18.00, Monday to Sunday. It’s a great place to explore.

Picture-perfect

This church could be compared with the Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre in Paris.

The church seems like it was plucked right off of a postcard. It’s located at the top of the Spanish Steps. It was built in 1502 and the oldest parts are Gothic in design. Among the many works in the interior, the highlights are the frescoes by Daniele da Voletrra and Andrea Pozzo.

It’s nicknamed the Church of France since the ground it stands on was a gift from the French crown to the Franciscans.
