3rd largest church in the US

At first, this was no more than a small parish church. Then, in 1697, the staunchly Anglican King William III decided it was time to build something bigger here on American soil. During the eighteenth century, this was the richest and most prestigious church in the entire country. Today it is the third largest in the United States, and stands, beautiful and striking, among the great giants of modern architecture. Built in an American Gothic style, it was once the tallest building in the city, but has since been dwarfed by the numerous skyscrapers. Three enormous bronze doors were designed by Richard Morris Hunt to imitate the famous doors of the Baptistery in Florence, and inside there is a long dark room with stunning stained glass above the altar.
