Viewpoint of Góis

This great lookout is where the shrine of Our Lady of the Assumption stands, at the top of a hill in Gois, about 40 km from Coimbra. Once in the village there are signposts, in fact it's situated before reaching the old bridge, and the climb by car to the viewpoint is fast. At the top there's a great panoramic view of the town, including its mother church, the mountains and down a great river beach which is traversed by the river Ceira.
