Viewpoint of Vila Real

Vila Real is at 427 meters altitude on a hill that forms a peninsula between the Cabril and Corgo rivers. From the back of the cemetery of St. Denis there's an excellent vantage point to enjoy a magnificent view of the confluence of the two rivers and dam. On the west side, nearly 400 meters deep, flows the river Cabril and on the east a deep ravine where the Corgo river bed is sighted. In the distance are the mountains surrounding the city: Sierra de Montemuro (south), the peaks of Sierra de Marão (west) and the foot of Sierra de Alvão (northwest). The two rivers converge at the southern end of
