Man and nature can coexist!

Excellent

Hallstatt is one of those towns that will leave an impression on you for the rest of your life. It is absolutely beautiful...even just going for a stroll is delightful. It is a very, very photogenic village. Actually I went with a group of people and I stayed behind because I could not stop taking photos. It wasn't declared a World Heritage Site as "The most beautiful lakeside town in the world" for nothing!

It's a good example of how man and nature can coexist.

Stillness and tranquility

Hallstatt is a little treasure lost in the Austrian Alps. Even though it appears in a lot of guidebooks (and not a few chain emails!), it remains a truly beautiful village where time seems to stop. The waters of the lakeare the definition of stillness and tranquility. There's nothing better than a tour the lake in one of the electric boats for rent, or the ice caves just outside of town, and the small ossuary in one of their churches. It's a truly enigmatic and magical place and it's a joy to visit.

Unforgettable

Excellent

This past summer, I went on a trip to Austria and I just couldn't leave without visiting Hallstatt. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997 and it's a dream place for everyone ve, like me, loves the combination of nature and culture. It's an idyllic place where time seems to stand still and you can really forget about the bothers of the work-a-day world.
