Ayutthaya is a UNESCO world heritage site, a temple complex of high archaeological value. The Buddha head in Wat Mahathat is one of the most intriguing and exotic sights to see. No one knows how or why the head of a Buddha ended up here, in the protective roots of a large tree, but it creates an almost perfect symbiosis, and it's impossible not to stop to take a picture.
