Free museum offering guided tour of former silent film actor & director's home
What a wonderful offering in the city of Newhall! The William Hart Museum is a public museum that offers free tours to the public at the top of every half hour during its operating hours. The museum is a 100+ year-old building that was the former retirement home of William Hart, a famous silent film actor and director in the early 1900's. Everything in the home is what was originally in Mr. Hart's home, including the walls, according to the docents. Only guided tours are available here - visitors can't explore the place without a guide. Through the tours, visitors will get to see both the first and second floors and rooms including the kitchen (there's one on the first and second floor), a grand living room on the second floor, his bedroom, and a room dedicated to his dogs.
