Duthie Park Winter Gardens

2 reviews of Duthie Park Winter Gardens

Beautiful gardens

The winter gardens, or conservatories are located along the river just a short walk from the center. Here you can find some big greenhouses where exotic habitats have been reproduced. You can see fantastic cacti, as well as dozens of types of geraniums, banana trees and many more kinds of plants. I found it wonderful, and recommend a visit here. On a nice day you can also enjoy the huge surrounding park.

Great

This park, named after it’s female benefactor Elizabeth Duthie, opened in 1883. There is plenty of outdoor space dotted with memorials and it is popular with visitors in push chairs. However the main attraction is the greenhouse complex. Hot houses, arid and temperate zones in the classic Victorian style.

Entry is free, however it is worthwhile to enjoy some home baking in the cafe to complete your visit.
