The hotel is in the town of Luss, on the west bank of Loch Lomond. On foot, you can go to Luss pier and explore the lake by boat. As Scotland, other aquatic sports such as bathing is temperature dependent, but it is a lovely place in the middle of nature. It is best if you have a car, but it can go from Glasgow by train to Balloch and then take a bus to that takes you to Luss. The hotel was recently refurbished inside, but outside it keeps the feel of ancient Scottish pub. The inside there is a restaurant serving drinks and regional food. All rooms have a private bathroom a TV and you need to make tea and coffee. Breakfast is Scottish, ie sausage, blood sausage and bacon, you have to ask if you want something else. In winter they do traditional dance sessions over the weekend to accompany dinner. At the level of prices, the single room costs 45 pounds a night, double 65 and four 110 familial. There is a fourth four little beds for £ 75 too.
The Inverberg is a lodge that is a cross between camping site and a hotel. It is located on the shore of beautiful Loch Lomond to the edge of the village of Luss. You need to have a car if you want to take full advantage of the region. The lodges are small, very nice wooden chalets with a Scottish decor and a modern twist. The kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped and there´s a big screen TV with DVD and cable. You rent the houses per week and they cost between 300 and 600 pounds for two superior rooms and it´s more or less the same for three normal rooms. There are slightly cheaper prices for what they call a "short break" which is usually from Thursday to Sunday. As an even cheaper option, you can rent a furnished and equipped caravan.
This hostel was the best quality for the price, during our trip to Scotland. Sleeping in a castle for 22 € per night, it's fantastic! If you go to Loch Lomond, take advantage of staying in this hostel.
