Tourism in Slovakia is still limited compared with neighboring European capitals. Vienna and Budapest have many more tourists per year on average. So on the one hand, it's essential that you find where to stay in Bratislava before you travel, but on the other, you'll benefit from excellent Bratislava hotel deals and much lower prices than in other nearby countries.
The network of budget Bratislava accommodations is growing. The capital is adapting to the slow growth of mass tourism, but don't expect your lodging in Bratislava to be as easy to find as in Vienna. As for services, the largest city in Slovakia is fully prepared for the traveler who seeks to find places to stay in Bratislava. The hygiene and hospitality are of a high standard for foreign visitors.
You will find options from luxury Bratislava hotels, family-run guesthouses, or pensions to charming inns. And even the big hotels in Bratislava won't put too much of a dent in your wallet. As for the time of year, remember that the best season to visit Slovakia is generally autumn and spring. In low season you should easily find cheap Bratislava lodging. On minube we recommend you not to miss the opportunity - Bratislava may be cheaper now than other cities in Europe, but it won't stay that way for long!
I spent a weekend here, and I have to say, the five stars are definitely well-deserved. Great service, with friendly staff always willing to help with everything, lovely rooms and delicious food. It's located on a quiet street with private parking, just steps from the historical centre of Bratislava and about five minutes from the central square and the National Theatre.
"MaMaison", as the name suggests ("MiCasa" in French), is a 4-star hotel where you can find everything to make you feel at home. It has a perfect location, 10min walk from the Castle (Hrad Bratislavský), in the old part of town. It is perfect for short and long stays because it offers excellent facilities not only for people traveling alone but also for families. It has 32 big rooms with different sizes and colors. All are furnished and equipped with kitchen, dining area, living area, bedroom and bathroom. They are all clean and bright. It turns out that the receptionist was Slovak but had studied in Spain and spoke Spanish perfectly.
This hotel is pretty old and run down. It is neither retro nor does it have anything interesting about it. There are things that can be done in all parts of the world whether they are old or not, as it is clean. That does not depend on the facilities. The windows and walls are not particularly clean, and neither are the cabinets, etc.. Not retro, they have not spent € in years. You can not expect kindness and smiles, something that seems to be part of the bratislavan character. The hotel is conveniently located and it's a shame that it is so. To visit the city it is great if you are not as picky as us.
Although is located in the suburbs, the Hotel Color is near a tram stop (lines 2 and 4) that will allow you to reach the city centre in about 15 minutes, as well as the main train station. The hotel has a small restaurant, not too expensive, that serves good food. Pros: quiet, well served by public transport, spacious, cheap restaurant, and cheap breakfast buffet. Cons: a bit far from town. Rate: a double room with breakfast costs 44 euros.
A very quiet and comfortable place, well equipped, with very friendly service. Only 1 km from the old town where you can only reach on foot, and well signposted. The hotel has many facilities, and I recommend it to all who want to be in a family environment. Among many other offers, this facility meets all requirements.
Not far from the city center and close to a bus stop leading to the bus station, you'll find the Patio Hostel which is the most popular hostel in Bratislava. The service is impeccable (for this kind of place). For €106, 4 of us stayed 2 nights with free access to the laundry and kitchen. A small bar livens up the place every night, and offers 10% discount on Slovak Pub, which is next door.

This hostel stands out because of its cleanliness,¡ and its good location, situated just 10 minutes walk away from the old town and 10 minutes from the train station (from the station you can catch a train to Vienna and it takes less than an hour). Furthermore, the hostel bar is furnished and decorated like a dungeon in the macabre movie "Hostel" the first part is set in Bratislava. Add to that a young and friendly hostel Possonium and you can certainly say that is a good option to stay in Bratislava.
