Are you wondering where to stay in Leon? Don't worry, minube is here to help you. Despite being a small city, there are plenty of places to stay in Leon. You can find some five-star Leon hotels, like the famous Hostal de San Marcos, as well as small hotels dotted around the city center where you can get better discounts on your Leon hotel deals.
Leon is a good place to stay due not only to its cultural, historical, and gastronomic attractions, but also because of its location, which allows you to use the city as a "hub" for short breaks in the area. You can visit the natural paradises like the Picos de Europa or hte Valporquero caves and return to your comfortable lodging in Leon for the night before starting the next day with another adventure.
This is also a hub of the route of the Camino de Santiago, which means that the supply of cheap Leon accommodations is extensive. Although most cheap Leon lodging can seem far from downtown, don't worry. In the areas of Eras or the Corte Ingles department store, you will find some budget hotels in Leon and other cheap accommodations, and just ten minutes' walk will leave you in front of the cathedral.
The San Marcos Hostel is part of the parador (state-run hotel) network. Its five stars and is where the personalities’ who go to the city stay.
Although no one knows who I am, I have stayed there several times and it’s a great place. A former convent and hospital for pilgrims traveling to Santiago, in the twelfth century, it is one of the architectural jewels of Leon.
It is also centrally located so you can go for a walk around town without taking a taxi. The décor is Castilian like all paradors’. I love it.
This adjoins the Basilica of San Isidoro, and is an integral part of it which has been renovated to enable it for this purpose. The house has a reception, conference room, restaurant, a small chapel, and simple rooms with bathroom, TV and telephone. It's purpose built to be a place of meditation, relaxation and rest.
Located in the beautiful city of Leon, in the urban heart of the city, surrounded by many interesting places such as Booties House, the Church of San Marcelo, the Palace of Guzman and current Leon County Council or the lovely, Cid lush park. This is where you'll find the Hotel Sercotel Alfonso V, a magnificent and luxurious hotel with modern design in an important commercial and financial location, surrounded by many local dining and entertainment options and only 7km from Leon Airport.
Albany Hostel is located right next to León cathedral. It has 19 rooms which are distributed among 3 floors. All rooms have a bathroom, telephone, plasma TV and minibar. They are spacious, bright (if possible ask if there are any rooms with a view of the cathedral), modern and comfortable for travellers. As great as it's location is, the price is even better. In high season a double room costs 67 €. In the reception floor there is a restaurant and leaving the hostel, a few meters from the Cathedral, there is a cafe for breakfast with sweet and savoury pastries which are very good. Highly recommended, if you want to go to Albany, book early, because it is almost always full!
Located behind the cathedral, near the Húmedo neighbourhood (place to go for wine or cocktails), this is a new hotel opened in 2006. There are rooms for business meetings, events and weddings. The restaurant is good and nice, with good food. From the terrace of the third floor, you can see the cathedral.
When relatives have come to visit Leon, they've always booked rooms at this hotel. It's well located, you can go walking everywhere, and the people there are more than helpful in terms of attention. The river view rooms are amazing.
A B & B in the center of León, it's different from the typical guesthouses with a modern decor and updated amenities such as wi-fi internet access. It's a typical resting place for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, and its owner is a source of reliable information on Lion, its cuisine and nightlife.
Hotel A is a charming and very well located hotel next to the cathedral. It has great rooms with modern bathrooms that are comfortable. The balconies of the rooms overlook parts of the wall, and the cathedral is lit up at night. The staff are friendly and helpful. The truth is that our stay was excellent. It is also only 2 minutes walk from the old town, which is great for tapas and wine. Perfect!
Hello. Last July my husband and I spent 2 nights here and it was a very satisfactory experience. A good service and the proximity to the historic area of the capital should be taken into account. It's a pleasant walk to the center.
Como en Casa is the first Hostel in León. A place where the maximum priority is to make you feel "at home". We are one of the most emblematic buildings of the city, at the gates of the busy Barrio Húmedo.
It was a pleasure staying at Purple Dog in the heart of León, just 1 minute from the cathedral, a pedestrian street that divides the Barrio Humedo and Barrio Romantico. Unbeatable situation. Rocio, the owner, tells you how to get there, and where to park. We went in October, which was a delight. Broad, high, modern ceilings, practical and spotless. The stainless steel kitchen gives a clean feel. Equipped with everything you might need. Upon arrival you will find what you need for your breakfast the next day. Milk, coffee, oranges, strawberries, butter, jam, sugar, pastries and tea; all fresh.
It also has a toaster, juicer and Nespresso machine. The bathroom is impeccably clean, top marks for the shower. The bed 2 x 2, with very comfortable mattress and two different pillows to choose from; good rest is assured. Although you're in a very noisy street, everything disappears when you close the windows, great soundproofing. Also with Air conditioning and heating and a stylish and practical lounge area. It does not lack detail. Above all, thanks to Rocio for her kindness and availability 24 hours a day, to make the stay of its guests satisfactory. Thanks For everything.
This spacious restaurant belongs to the 4-star Husa Abad San Antonio. However, you can eat here even if you're not staying at the hotel, and in fact a large number of people come here to do so, as it's close to Leon's hospital complex. At lunchtime, it offers a set menu for € 11 with very generous portions and very fast and effective service. I've been twice and I ate very well, so I recommend that if you're in the area, come here, rather than eating at the hospital itself (sure, the menu is cheaper there, but it's infinitely worse).
You can choose from 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts. An example: starters: chickpeas with tripe, fideua with cuttlefish, or cauliflower sauteed with garlic and paprika. Main courses: knuckle of pork with prune sauce, roast chicken leg with potatoes, or tuna steak with pisto manchego. Desserts: peaches, creamy cheesecake with red fruit coulis, or strudel pastry filled with cream and topped with hot chocolate sauce. A drink is included. There's a great cafe here too, where you can order snacks or meals at any time.
My stay at this hotel was very interesting, in the center of Leon, I visited all the local areas and some of the places further out of the centre as well. The quality accommodation, good service, good rooms (mine was like a small suite with entrance) but stopped short at the hotel, I went, the two days I was there to get to know the city. The first-Leonese cuisine, 10 out of 10 and very polite and helpful people.
While doing some work from home, I stayed for a week in these apartments. It was pretty good, and I really felt at home. They're located in the Poligono X industrial area; it's not particularly central, but they're very well-connected to the city and the ring road. There's no bus service from the door, but you can walk downtown in 10 - 15 minutes. My apartment had two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with a 90cm bed), a lounge, kitchen and bathroom. It was completely furnished with a microwave, large fridge, stove and washing machine in the kitchen, with all kinds of utensils (plates, cutlery, cups, coffee, etc).
The lounge had a small bookshelf (somewhat bare, as it had no ornaments or books), TV with satellite dish, three-seater sofa and another smaller one, a coffee table and a dining table with a couple of chairs. The bathroom was quite spacious with a large bath, sink, toilet and bidet. There was a rather large mirror over the sink, and a small cupboard above the bidet. The bedroom had a broad, three-door closet, and there was another one in the hallway, even bigger. The small room had a desk, and there was free internet (wifi throughout the house). Of course, there were heaters, too. The truth is that it is an excellent choice for a few days, and you'll have a completely free schedule (the cleaners come twice a week), though of course you'll have to make your own food, etc. The same owners have two more buildings, too.
Leon, whenever I'm in the vicinity I stay at this Hotel. It's in the most central area but it's still quiet as it's in a pedestrian area in the same street that leads to the Plaza de la Cathedral, Leon Cathedral is 100 meters. The hotel has parking, the staff is very friendly. A great Spa included in the price. Free Wifi Next to the hotel and part of the complex is a winery that offers quality caps and towards the back there's the dining room that serves good food. The value for money is perfect.
Due to a serious problem with my house, I had to move out temporarily to allow urgent work to be done. I decided to rent an apartment for a few days, and found these: there aren't many options in Leon, but I knew about these apartments, managed by the Hotel Puerta de Leon. They have several apartments for rent in different buildings in the city but, as they were all full, I was offered the chance to stay in a brand-new building. It stands on Avenida Alvaro Lopez Nuñez, next to the Colegio de los Maristas and the Arco de la Carcel.
It's a new construction, and of the five apartments here, only two were furnished and ready for guests when I stayed. In fact, they had to bring me a couple of blankets and some blankets, and the heating had never benen turned on before! It really was fantastic: a bedroom with two beds pushed together and a spacious cupboard, a bathroom with bath, a spacious living room with a sofa and a huge flat-screen TV, and a dining table with four chairs. The living room has a door leading to a small fully equipped kitchen with fridge, washing machine and microwave with grill (since there is no oven). There are cutlery, pans, glasses, cups, sheets, towels, etc, but there aren't a lot of any of them.
There is central heating, radiators, and a thermostat to regulate the room temperature. The manager is a real star, and gave me a lot of help, as these apartments really are brand new. Payment is made in advance (in my case, 50 € + VAT each day, but there's enough space for 2 people), and a deposit of 200 €. The minimum stay is one week, and the apartment is cleaned twice a week (the sheets are changed once a week). Anyway, I liked it. Ideal for extended stays, a 10 minute walk from the city center (Plaza de Santo Domingo).
My partner and I decided to go to Leon for Easter weekend. The problem was that we brought our dog, and most hotels and hostels wouldn't accept him. However, we found this hotel, with a perfect location, 5 minutes from the cathedral. You can stay with your pet for a surcharge of 10 euros. The room we were given was on the third floor and the truth is that despite the bustle of the street we did not hear anything from outside. However, the worst thing thing about this hotel is that the walls are paper-thin, so we could always hear everything happening in the next room! The hotel staff were very friendly, and the price isn't that cheap, but you pay for the location.
It's a hotel unlike any other in Leon, Hotel Quindós has a gallery with works of art by Picasso, Miró, Tàpies. Unbelievable! The hotel is suitable both for resting and for business meetings arranged in the heart of the city. if you book on the official website you can find very good deals and discounts.
