We came to the Spa Convento Las Claras Hotel from Madrid thinking we were going to a really tranquil little village, but we were very very surprised that the hotel was exclusively dedicated to making sure your experience in the Ribera del Duero area is perfect. Of course for us it was a surprise to find a little place like this hotel that was clearly a convent. Good wine, Spa, tours, all with charm. We loved it.
The Ribera del Duero Hotel is one of the recommended accommodations if you're visiting the Ribera del Duero and Penafiel area, if you decide that there's not enough for you to do in this town. In this hotel you'll be nicely taken care of, you can enjoy the local cuisine in the hotel's restaurant and try a Ribera del Duero wine in their Wine Bar overlooking the Castle. I definitely recommend that you go up to see the Wine Museum and on your way you can take advantage of snapping some pictures from some of the best views in the area. If you go between September and early October you'll get to see the bustle of the winemakers and wineries that are in full harvest mode at that time.
