El Hijo del Rubio Restaurant

Highly recommended

The truth is that Minube is finding me a lot of spots and restaurants that are more than interesting. I had seen this restaurant mentioned and I decided to approach this weekend and in all fairness I really enjoyed it.

Inside was packed, so being that the weather was so nice, we decided to get a table on the terrace at the entrance so we could enjoy the sun, a delicious meal and the girls could run around at will.

For starters a garden salad for 7 € to share and for the main course the Caldero del Mar Menor (A local dish) for 13 € per person, very good, in which rice and mullet fish is served. I found mine to be a little lacking in flavour at first, but it was an unconfirmed initial impression and was substantially improved garnished with aioli.

My favourite restaurant

You get to what is known as 'la curva de Lo Pagan,' which was once a lively zone. Then, amid a flat expanse of promenade where there are often carnival attractions, stands one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. A huge wooden ship that seems to be docked in the sporting marina of Lo Pagan.

Its urban terrace welcomes and tells you that 'the door of the ship's hold' is the gateway to my favourite restaurant: El hijo de Rubio (The Son of the Blonde).

There you forget everything to be seduced by a young atmosphere and the friendliness of the managers Julia and Antonio. Antonio wins you with his professionalism, tips, recommendations and his speed at the hour of serving you, Julia, for her cuisine: a tornado of exquisite flavours.
