By visiting the Mira de Aire's grottos, you will see something amazing. These are the largest caves of Portugal that represent an authentic underground cathedral with the most wonderful and amazing structures for anyone to visit.
Boneca Grotto is situated next to the natural setting of Algar Seco. This is a small tunnel, with a window to the ocean just 10 meters further, it is certainly a dream. At the exit of the cave, there is a kiosk with a terrace and a small pebble beach. This is an ideal place to admire the wonderful rock forms that have occurrec due to erosion and wind.
Taking the path to the right of Bom Jesus Sanctuary, facing a hotel, is a cave whose appearance is more than natural, though it seems to have beautiful decoration. In front of it there's a small artificial lake, landscaped gardens and 2 paths to take you inside. Some rock is covered with moss as the water reaches the interior and from the ceiling many stalactites hang. You can also climb to the top of the cave by stairs that have been made from the rock and that are surrounded by greenery, at the top there is a bandstand from 1913.
